Senior Civil Engineer / PM

As a preeminent engineering consulting firm, we seek exceptionally qualified engineers to join our Civil design team in leadership and/or technical role.

Currently we offer an excellent career opportunity for a Senior Level Civil Engineer and/or Civil Project Manager who will be responsible for some or all of the following types of tasks:

  • NYS DEC / NYC DEP BEPA Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan applications,
  • DEP Hydrological + Hydraulic (H+H) Analyses of sewer loading for rezoned areas or otherwise,
  • DEP Site Connection Plan and House Connection Plan (SD1 & SD2) for new sanitary and storm connections to sewer,
  • Design of storm water management practices, including but not limited to detention tanks, dry wells, storm water gallery systems, storm water planters, bioretention.
  • DEP Cross Connection Plans for RPZ, DCVA, DCDA, and RPDA for new water and fire service connections,
  • Internal Water Main Design,
  • DEP and FDNY Fire Hydrant Applications
  • Site Grading and Drainage Design for areas including but not limited to parking lots, grass yards, recreation areas,
  • DEP Industrial Waste Permits,
  • Rainwater harvesting system design and irrigation needs analyses,
  • DOB Builders Pavement Plans and Curb Cut Applications,
  • Parks and Recreation Street Trees Applications,
  • DOT Vault Applications,
  • Parking Lot Layout Design,
  • Performing site visits for initial site assessment, construction inspections, and final inspections, and/or
  • Light administration work including DEP application processing

In this capacity you will interface with internal Project Managers and clients, owners, regulatory authorities, other disciplinary consultants and/or architects on a routine basis, so strong communication skills are desired.

5%-10% of the role will involve on-site presence at construction sites.

There will be opportunities to work with EEA's other disciplinary departments, including the Sustainability, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Field Verification departments.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Understanding of and direct experience with NYC DEP, NYS DEC and Department of Buildings (DOB) and (DOT) Department of Transportation rules, regulations and guidelines associated with the management of storm water runoff/quality control/quantity control, site connection proposals, sizing and design of detention facilities. Applications without this experience will not be considered.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and applications concurrently.
  • Proven experience in leading and supervising teams or individuals.
  • Having established relationships with DEP / DEC personnel a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad and Civil 3D is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoTurn or similar a plus.
  • Proficiency in Hyrdoflow or similar a plus.
  • PE and/or CPESC Accreditation a plus.
  • DEC Erosion and Sediment Control Training Certification is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year

Schedule: Monday to Friday
