Senior Commissioning Engineer / Department Manager (Midtown West)

Currently we offer an excellent career opportunity for a qualified Commissioning Department Manager to lead EEA's commissioning and commissioning efforts from a business, technical and resource management perspective.
Responsibilities associated with the position are:
- Providing in-field commissioning services for new construction projects of varied typology (e.g., residential, commercial, educational, etc.) in accordance with LEED, Energy Star FTA and/or Building/Energy code requirements.
- Developing and/or facilitating the development of documentation and reports associated with commissioning and inspections as needed for program compliance, AHJ approval and/or client review.
- Performing review of construction drawings to ensure compliance with program requirements. Supporting the in-house MEP/FP design team in the development of sequences of operation, controls diagrams or similar to help streamline the commissioning/inspection process where EEA is dually retained for both services.
- Training EEA staff on the aforementioned duties.
- Lead EEA's technical execution of commissioning and testing services and/or consult with other in-house technical experts to support such.
- Maintaining overall responsibility for EEA commissioning and inspection technical standards, protocols, equipment and similar. Working to continually improve such as desired.
- Developing/issuing commissioning and inspection proposals and maintaining responsibility for associated contracts.
- Supporting/leading business development and growth initiatives associated with EEA's commissioning and inspections portfolio which may include participation in industry conferences, generating various marketing materials or similar. Particular focus will be given to expanding the existing building portfolio for retro-commissioning within NYC.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a building environment design or planning field i.e. mechanical engineering, energy management or building-related engineering disciplines.
- 3-5-10+ years of experience in building commissioning and field verification.
- PE, CxA, BPI, CEM, TAB certifications are a PLUS.
- Experience with TR8 and/or TR1 inspections in NYC a PLUS.
- Having performed ASHRAE Level 1, 2 and 3 Energy Audits a PLUS.
- Familiarity with ENERGY STAR Testing and Verification Protocols including blower door or duct blasting testing a PLUS.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be able to manage several projects and resources concurrently, ensuring completion per schedule, budget and company standard.
- Must have excellent communication and writing skills.
- Must have proposal writing/contract management experience.
