Pier A was first constructed in 1884-1886 and is the last surviving historic pier in Manhattan. The project included interior fit-out of a ground floor Beer Garden & Oyster Bar, a second floor fine dining restaurant in the tradition of Harry’s Café & Steak and a third floor catering and event space. Given that the space extends of open water, EEA designed a vacuum plumbing system. Pier A was design to meet or exceed LEED Silver rating for interior design construction. EEA participated in a construction administration process which utilized NAVISWORKS for three-dimensional coordination and conflict resolution. The project spaces in sum totalled approximately 28,000 square feet.
