Recipient of an “Excellence in Design” Award by DDC & PDC.

Partial demolition, new construction and renovation to an existing 100,000 square foot facility (approx.) including: a) the demolition of the existing administration building, b) creation of a new administration building with additional parking to meet increased staff demand, c) addition of an inspection lane within the existing taxi/livery inspection garage, d) securing the existing masonry walls of the existing garage, e) the modification of the exterior yard to address queueing for the new inspection lane and additional vehicles, and f) relocation of the vehicle fueling stations.

The building was studied for net-zero building design as part of NYC’s 80x50 greenhouse gas emission reduction program. The study included consideration of multiple advanced Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) including underfloor air distribution and the building’s design will ultimately include a large solar panel array, energy efficient VRF equipment, demand control ventilation and other ECMs. The current LEED Certification target for the project is Gold (minimum).

The design will also incorporate phasing such that facility can remain fully operational during the renovation.
